Building on MKIAC’s renowned ‘Art in the Park’ festival, this year we have a special programme; a day of entertainment for all the family, packed with live music, food, spoken word, story-telling and film at Chrysalis Theatre.

EVENT & TICKET INFOS – Saturday 25th September

1-4 pm: Family and children’s activities and entertainment (Afternoon Pass)

4-6 pm: Food: a culinary journey to Syria! (Dinner is included in the price of an evening pass. Please note, food is not included with the afternoon pass.)

6-10.30 pm: Live music concerts and performances (Evening Pass)

Please book your tickets in advance and please note that booking fees are not included.

There are two categories of tickets available, an afternoon pass for the family events, and an evening pass for the evening performance. The food will be available from 4-6 pm, and will only be available with advance purchase of an evening pass.

LIVE MUSIC CONCERTS (EVENING PASS) (6-11pm)

The Khan Brothers Qawwal:

Led by Ustad Haji Ameer Khan, the renowned ensemble has been performing in the UK for over 30 years and with it, sharing the mesmerising heritage of Sufi Qawwali.

Damascus Stories

A storytelling and music performance based on a collection of stories from Syria adapted for the stage by Alia Alzougbi and Louai Alhenawi in a newly devised script and original music.

Saied Silbak Presents: Songs from Palestine:

Renowned Palestinian composer and Oud player Saied Silbak pays homage to the landscape and trajectory of Palestine’s rich music history, from journeying through the region’s folklore classics, to the soundtracks of the 80s and 90s, as well as showcasing contemporary pieces and sounds.

FAMILY AND CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES (DAY PASS) (1-4pm)

With films, storytelling and art activities, this session has been designed for families and with children and young adolescents. Events will take place in a separate area designed with bean bags, pillows and a comfortable setting.
