In recent years, The Chrysalis has proudly hosted a number of productions that have received acclaim, and perhaps you could be among them. The theatre is available for hire throughout most of the year, for all kinds of theatrical events including (but not limited to) plays, musicals, concerts, orchestral renditions, cinema screenings, big-screen gaming, and so much more. If you're interested in hiring The Chrysalis, read through the following steps and Terms and Conditions before getting in touch:

1

Check the Bookings Calendar to see whether the date that you would like to hire The Chrysalis may be available (note that we will be unable to confirm the availability of a date until you contact us).

- When you contact us, if this is your first time hiring The Chrysalis, we'll arrange a time for you to visit us and have a tour of the venue. We'll also send you a copy of our Terms and Conditions, which you should read through carefully.

- Your chosen date(s) will then be added to our Bookings Calendar as a 'provisional booking'. During the 14 day period that follows, other potential hirers will be unable to book The Chrysalis for these dates. You must therefore arrange an appointment for within these 14 days to complete a booking application with our event co-ordinator, and, at the same time, submit your reservation and returnable deposits.

- On receipt of your reservation deposit, your booking will be confirmed for the dates specified. All other pre-event requirements of your booking (if not already given) must be provided within the 14 days that follow the submission of your reservation deposit, including but not limited to, the required details of any performances so that we can arrange the Front of House, and a copy of your public liability insurance certificate. Take a look at our Terms and Conditions for more details.

- If you will be using music in your performance, you must ensure that you give us the details of each and every piece of music, including the length for which each piece will be playing, and the nature of its use (for example, whether it is incidental or curtain, or interpolated). We must have received this information at least 37 days before the start of your event to allow us to obtain the necessary music licenses from PPL and PRS. If you have already obtained the rights for the music that you will be playing (for example, if you have purchased the rights to a play or musical which include the music rights in the royalty fee that you have paid), you must instead provide us with a record confirming this at least 37 days before the start of your event. The cost of music licensing that has not already been paid will be invoiced to you following your hiring period. For more details about music licensing, see PPL and PRS websites.

- It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure that all related promotional material for your event is supplied to The Chrysalis. If you choose to pay the £10 'Promotional Fee', you must ensure that you supply us with the exact information that we ask for, or we will be unable to market your event through our website. We cannot offer a refund on this Promotional Fee.

On the inside...

The Chrysalis is an incredibly warm building, aided by the mass of wood in its architecture, complimented by the softness of carpets and curtains, and the radiance of the sunlight beaming through its many windows and skylights...

The foyer is an ideal compliment to all kinds of events, from large-scale theatrical productions, to small, catered group meetings...

With its high vaulted ceiling and wall-height window, the foyer gives a sense of earthly open airiness...

Every row alphabetically labelled, every seat numbered, The Chrysalis has raked seating for 209, but can be expanded to as much as 230....

Looking down across the rake towards the stage, before the proscenium arch, beneath the two archways on either side, there are additional areas for performance, allowing a more intricate and divided production...

Making use of the raked seating's retractibility, hirers can utilise the full potential of the hall's space, for large circle-orientated conferences, to small individual group activities...

The Chrysalis is set within the midst of Camphill Milton Keynes, giving it the added bonus of security, and the support of a community...

The influence of any production upon its audience can only be enhanced by the organic, natural warmth that The Chrysalis provides, that which must be witnessed in its entirety to gain a true perspective of the effect that it might have...
